David Baldwin, at American Cedar, not only promised he could get me the material I was looking for, but he got it and delivered it to me in ½ the time that any other vendor could do for me! This was instrumental in meeting the deadline of my project at the Eastport Shopping Center. David also agreed to hold the product at his warehouse and to deliver it as needed. If I called David on a Tuesday to have 20 boxes delivered, he made it happen! We are writing to commend Kristin Baldwin McCarra for the outstanding kitchen design work she did for us between February 2022 and August 2023.
Our down to the studs kitchen renovation was a mammoth project, and included renovating adjacent rooms as well. Kristin's expert guidance during the design phase, and her subsequent support during construction were invaluable in clearing the way for a nearly flawless installation. Throughout this past year and a half, Kristin has exemplified your company slogan “to inspire, empower and support”. She did all three of those things for us on this project, and we thought you should know about our experience.
This being our first kitchen renovation, we were full of questions! In spite of our steep learning curve, Kristin consistently welcomed us whenever we arrived at the showroom, scheduled or not, and we never felt as though we were a bother. Early on, she thoroughly explained the differences between the cabinet lines American Cedar carries, as well as the significant differences between frameless and framed cabinets.
Kristin captured all of our “must have” ideas in her preliminary concept drawings. She also demonstrated her knowledge of construction and asked many questions about my plans for that process. Kristin was efficient with her time and always respected ours. She guided us where it was needed and offered her own ideas as refinement to ours. Her attention to detail and her efforts to thoroughly define the parameters of the project upfront resulted in concept drawings that ended up being very close to the final design, and the subsequent installation went smoothly and without any major problems.
My wife had concerns about off-gassing of the cabinetry, and Kristin found and relayed to her detailed and helpful information on this topic which was most appreciated.
In our early interactions with Kristin, we recognized her professional design expertise, and benefitted from her collaboration skills. As the project progressed, we felt that we had precisely the partner we needed to make our vision a reality. In short, we trusted Kristin. Looking back today, our confidence was well placed, and well earned.
